When time slows down
The weather was overcast, but we were eager to get out of the house for a little bit of nature and family time.
When we arrived at the beach, the sun broke through a layer of clouds. The morning quickly reminded me about my childhood.
We spread out the blanket and enjoyed the scenery. People were passing by. Dogs were chasing birds by the water. The Golden Gate Bridge stood firm and strong behind us. Aadi sat in the soft, warm sand. His scooper and shovels spread across his play area. He began digging deep holes, pouring sand from the shovels into his scooper and back onto the beach.
Aadi ran down the beach, holding shovels in his hands. He was stumbling and falling onto the sand. He rolled over with a big smile on his face. His face covered in sunscreen. The sand was sticking to his cheeks.
Time slowed down as we watched Aadi enjoy the simple pleasures of playing in the sand. It was a brief visit to the beach, but enough to replenish from a busy work week. Having small moments of nature and family time is essential.
